We have a feeling we’re about to really cry. And we mean we’ll cry in the way that only comes after watching a gorgeous animated movie that’s really designed to crush our hearts. In The Wild Robot trailer, we meet ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short, and watch as it begins its journey of growth, change, and probably tragedy. There’s just no way to avoid falling for a cute robotic creature that wants to befriend animals. We know something so sweet can’t last, and still, we’re already in love. If that weren’t enough, the animation for this movie is impossibly stunning. And on top of all of that the voice cast for The Wild Robot is absolutely stuffed with talent. The fact that The Wild Robot includes Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, and Mark Hamill barely scratches the surface of the talent at play.

Take a look at The Wild Robot‘s full trailer below and see some of the magic for yourself.

Oh, Roz. You’re just so earnest and cute in The Wild Robot‘s trailer. We love watching you learn and develop bonds. But what does your future hold? Heartbreak, as all things that feel will eventually experience? Loss? We hope not. We just want Roz to play with birds and gallop with deer to its heart’s content.

As we marvel at the animation in The Wild Robot‘s trailer, we can also take a look at its official synopsis. DreamWorks Animation shares:

From DreamWorks Animation comes a new adaptation of a literary sensation, Peter Brown’s beloved, award-winning, #1 New York Times bestseller, The Wild Robot.

The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

An adoptive parent! Oh no. Oh yes. We guess we’ll just have to wait for The Wild Robot to release to know for sure what we’ll end up feeling. In the meanwhile, we’ve already adopted this wild robot into our hearts and will be replaying the trailer over and over.

Emotions aside, The Wild Robot‘s cast is absolutely stacked with star power. We don’t yet get to hear any of the performances in store for us in The Wild Robot‘s trailer aside from Lupita Nyong’o. But we can rest assured that when we do hear this film’s voice cast in action, it will be a marvelous experience.

A release shares of The Wild Robot‘s cast:

The Wild Robot stars Academy Award® winner Lupita Nyong’o (Us, The Black Panther franchise) as robot Roz; Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian) as fox Fink; Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek, Best in Show) as opossum Pinktail; Oscar® nominee Bill Nighy (Living, Love Actually) as goose Longneck; Kit Connor (Heartstopper, Rocketman) as gosling Brightbill and Oscar® nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once, this summer’s The Fall Guy) as Vontra, a robot that will intersect with Roz’s life on the island.

The film also features the voice talents of Emmy winning pop-culture icon Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise, The Boy and the Heron), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows, The SpongeBob Movie franchise) and Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible films, Pulp Fiction).

Let’s just recap. Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, and more will feature in this movie. It seems unbelievable. But we’ll gladly take it.
